Pole Dancing: Level 2

I’ve successfully graduated to Level 2 in pole-dancing! Everyone in the first class was someone I recognized from before which made the transition comfortable. (Women, I’ll never understand ’em. We were all pretty shy and stand-off-ish during the first month. After 6 weeks, we’re finally warming up to each other!)

We have the same instructors so it was easy to pick up from where we left off. We reviewed all our spins and I’m still having trouble with the kneeling spin. I’ll have to practice that.

We added the last few moves to our routine and learned a new backward spin like this. Of all the spins, I had the most fun with this one. It was a little strange to get used to as first because it felt like you were going to miss the hook with the knee and just fall straight onto your ass. lol But after you get over the fear of “falling into it” it was SO fun! Of course, in training, we brought the spin all the way to the ground onto our knees. Needless to say, my knees are red and bruised.

My mates commented how this spin and the forward version of it are my best spins. It was nice to hear that I’m doing well!

We also learned a few more dance moves which incorporated tango-like movements. We added it to the new spin we learned and it just looks and feels great! I’m going to practice with my classmates tomorrow so maybe I can get a video of myself finally. -_^
